There's MORE to Reading

Welcome

Welcome to Reading: a destination that offers much, much more.

This website has been created to enable you to find out more about the opportunities on offer within Reading’s Community & Adult Social Care Services. It’s a chance to hear from the people who already work here and why they have chosen Reading as their professional destination.

Supporting the life that matters to you.

The work we do matters. Reading is a place of incredible diversity. It’s a place of opportunity and success, but also a place where people have complex needs, and where inequality persists. There are high levels of demand for our professional support and expertise, so working here can be both challenging and rewarding. But you’ll quickly find out that it’s a place where you can do more, achieve more and learn more.

Reading is incredibly well-connected: 40 minutes to central London; 25 minutes to Oxford; and a 35-minute drive to Heathrow and its worldwide destinations. We couldn't be better placed. And the borough is a hub for creativity and culture. Thousands of people flock to the Reading Festival every year to enjoy some of the world's the world's biggest live music acts. Our Pride Festival is another annual highlight, celebrating a vibrant and inclusive community where everyone is welcome. And we are investing in our community facilities: new sports facilities in the town are making it easier for people to live healthy, active lives.

It's a great place to be.
